Safety and Independence for Nicole G.

Nicole’s New Bathroom

Meet Nicole, a physically disabled adult living with Cerebral Palsy. Nicole was getting stuck trying to access her backyard path due to the soft ground and moisture. HBF was able to install a concrete path, to ensure she could access the backyard safely and independently, without fear of getting stuck. Thankfully, this project was able to be completed before the shutdown due to COVID, and she has been enjoying her backyard since.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 shutdown delayed her basement bathroom request to add walls for privacy. Fortunately, thanks to the success of HBF’s recent fundraising efforts and donors like you, HBF and Project Captain GJ Gardner, were able to complete Nicole’s bathroom last month.

Rio Grande Co’s. and HBF’s Board President Jim Iversen thanks the crew: “Jeff Pagano with GJ Gardner/Bulldog Renovations and his crew did a phenomenal job, as did Ken Riley with his plans for the project. The end result for Nicole is pretty awesome.

It is amazing to see the safety and independence HBF and supporters are able to deliver to clients living with disabilities in our communities.
