Meet The Crew

Home Builders Foundation expanded its board of directors in 2019. New members joining the board are Mark Bailey, Devin Bundy, Jim Iversen, Terry Kyger, Adam McCartie, Cheryl Schuette, Mike Smith, Michael Solano, Marci Whitman and Kate Wyeth.  Returning board members are Niki Abeyta, Bradley Brubaker, Jon Cohen, Nathan Colburn, Jeremy Evans, Lane Heberer, John Hovde, John Keith, Christine Layne, Mackenzie Leatherman, Derek Longwell, Jeff McGovern, Kolby O’Herron, Ashley Reutter, Mike Tayloe, Heather Thomas, Luke Waugh and Bill Wood.

  • Mark Bailey is the Division President of Toll Brothers. He is joining the HBF board of directors for one year, during his President-Elect term for the Home Builders Association Board of Directors.
  • Devin Bundy is the GM/Owner of McClure Concrete. Devin Bundy has been in concrete supply and construction since 1993.  And now, as a first-time board member, he looks forward to finding new ways to get involved and to get other “concrete types” involved.
  • Jim Iversen is Vice President at Rio Grande Co. Iversen has been in sales and operational management for over 30 years.  In addition to serving on the HBF Board, Iversen runs a baseball program for kids with mental and physical disabilities.
  • Terry Kyger is the Chief Financial Officer at Saddleback Design. He returns to the HBF board of directors, after previously serving for more than 10 years, including 9 years as Board Treasurer. He will be resuming his role as Board Treasurer in 2019.
  • Adam McCartie is a sales manager at OrePac Building Products. McCartie has been involved with the HBF for 10 years.  Speaking of his experience with the HBF McCartie says, “I spent years on the gifting committee before my first ramp build.  I was in for a treat, I didn’t really understand the extent on what the foundation really did. . .  When the ramp was complete and I was able to see how much this was going to change a life on just getting out the front door, I was hooked.
  • Cheryl Schuette, owner of Cheryl Schuette & Associates, has been engaged in the building and delivery of close to 10,000 homes in the Colorado marketplace. She also serves as Acting Director of the Colorado Homebuilding Academy.  After serving in many HBA BOD and committee roles over three decades, Cheryl was honored by the HBA of Metro Denver’s SMC and awarded the MAME Industry Legend Award in 2016.
  • Mike Smith works at Boise Cascade and is a certified LEED Green Associate. Smith has over 20 years of experience in the building supplies industry.  Smith has been involved with the HBF for over 6 years.  He is a graduate of Kansas State University.
  • Michael Solano co-owns Best Choice Janitorial with his wife. Solano earned the Southwest Liberation Medal with 3 bronze clusters during his service in the army. Solano also served as a police officer before an ATV accident left him paralyzed.  As a former recipient, Solano brings a client perspective to the HBF Board.  Solano says, “I am so honored to be a part of the HBF Mission.  I hope I can spread awareness of HBF and assist people like me in the community who could not otherwise have independence.”
  • Marci Whitman is the founder and owner of Boomerang Marketing. In addition to running her own business, Whitman is a city council member for the city of Northglenn. Whitman is a graduate of Metro State University of Denver.
  • Kate Wyeth is the Market Development Manager of LP Building Solutions. She has sold building materials throughout Colorado since 2003. Kate first became involved with the HBF during her tenure at BlueLinx as they supported the growing success of Blitz Build. Kate is a proud alumna of Colorado State University where she studied political science and was involved in student government as well as community outreach programs focused on transportation, housing, and child advocacy.
