The HBF Squad Gets Back to the Ice at Pucks for Possibilities

The 11th Annual Pucks for Possibilities, presented by Builder FirstSource, was held this week at Ball Arena. And, based on the number of smiles flashing at the exhibition game, at Brooklyn’s and at the Avalanche game we couldn’t have asked for a better day! Check out all the smiles in the pictures from the event here!

Players took the ice separated into two teams: the Blue Team and the White Team. HBF’s Board President Devin Bundy dropped the puck and promptly exited the action. Although the players have never formally skated together it only took a moment for the momentum to build and the teams to gel. After that the action took off and the ice flew! At the end of the first period the score was tied at three apiece. During the break in action, HBF shouted out to our event sponsors and got ready for the final period.

In the second period the score was back and forth as the players traded steals, goals, a bit of pushing and shoving and really got the crowd going. Goalies Matt Egan (Blue) and Steve Gerken (White) added to the excitement with over 20 blocked shots combined. The energy on the ice was high and it really looked as if the game would end in a tie. But, in the final two minutes the White Team scored, and the Blue Team just could not find an answer. Although, they tried, HARD!

It was a spectacular event on the ice for players and spectators alike. We’re pretty sure some of the players may have been scouted to be brought up to the Avalanche team if they need help!

While players cleaned up, spectators wandered over to Brooklyn’s, where everyone eventually met up for an after-party. Rivals on the ice and at Brooklyn’s – the players did not leave the competition on the ice, challenging each other to bid the highest on the auction items. Auction items we provided by, Devin Bundy, McClure Concrete, Rio Grande CO., Boise Cascade and the entire Colorado Avalanche organization. Special thanks to everyone who made this day an incredible success.

The energy at Brooklyn’s reminded us of the past! People congregating. Hanging with old friends and being introduced to new ones. A cocktail and a snack surrounded by like-minded people all coming together with the purpose of supporting HBF. The day was surely a wonder to see and be a part of.
