Emma Lape is President and Owner of Rocky Mountain Drywall. She started out with RMD as a temporary Accounting Assistant and, after 18 years, now owns the business. Over the years she has done everything including Accounting, Contracts, Sales, Estimating, Warranty, Purchasing and even a short stint as Field Manager. Basically, she is a powerhouse, and we are so proud to welcome Emma to the 2023 HBF Board of Directors.
Growing up in a construction family, Emma has always been passionate about the home building process, so running Rocky Mountain Drywall is a perfect marriage of her love of building and her natural talent for business. She loves the drywall phase particularly because drywall is what transforms a bunch of sticks into a home.
Emma has supported HBF for 18 years. Her involvement began through builder relationships. But has continued because she feels, “Strongly that we have a responsibility to help others in need, and partly because she can personally empathize with those who have a disability which makes living in their home difficult.”
One of Emma’s favorite experiences with HBF is attending the Annual Celebration. Emma is involved during the building process and the Annual Celebration allows her to hear “first-hand” how her work and the work of HBF impacts our clients.
Although she loves her work, Emma also believes in a great work-life balance. Her adventures include riding an elephant in Thailand, zip-lining in Ecuador, traipsing the jungles of Peru, and taking a motorcycle trip through the Alps. She also enjoys traveling around the US and Canada with her husband on their Honda Goldwing motorcycles. Experiencing life and treasuring time with family are top priorities for her.
