Daniel’s Fund Supports HBF with a Generous Grant

Home Builders Foundation is proud to announced that we have received a Daniels Fund grant to support our mission to “build independence, provide opportunities and elevate lives for individuals and families with disabilities in our community.” This is the second consecutive year HBF has been awarded this generous gift.

The pandemic has illuminated the critical nature of accessible home modifications for HBF’s clients and their families. And demand for HBF’s services continues to grow; from 39 projects in 2007 to 248 projects for 136 clients in 2021. Drastically slowed building material supply chains and labor availability have increased the cost of materials and the completion time for projects is often delayed. Because of this, HBF must increase the budgeted cost per project, purchase materials at-cost, and pay additional costs for labor.

“The Daniels Fund support will allow HBF to continue to provide accessible home modifications at no-cost to our clients. The grant will support HBF’s work toward providing home modifications for clients living with disabilities. Thereby helping to build independence, provide opportunities and elevate lives in our community,” said Beth Forbes, Executive Director.

The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through its grants program, scholarship program, and ethics initiative.
