April is National Fair Housing Month

The month of April means it’s time to recognize National Fair Housing Month with our friends at Denver Metro Fair Housing Center (DMFHC).

DMFHC works hard promoting housing choice in the greater Denver metro area.  The relationship between HBF and NFHADMFHC began in 2013. And since then, we’ve completed projects for 116 clients together, with an impact value of nearly $1.2M. Projects range from grab bars, access ramps and railings to lifts, bathroom and kitchen modifications.

HBF Executive Director, Beth Forbes states, “We are so grateful for the longstanding partnership HBF has with National Fair Housing Alliance and Denver Metro Fair Housing Center. Thanks to their support from community relief funds in the past 10 years, we’ve been able to positively impact individuals and their families in the Denver metro area with accessible home modifications. We look forward to continuing our great work together in 2022, and beyond!”

One of Beth’s favorite memories is when DMFHC’s team put together a crew and built a ramp for Joe S. in Castle Rock, (featured in picture above). Once the ramp was complete, Joe was able to get to the mailbox by himself. The ramp helps build Joe’s independence and elevates his life!

Since April is National Fair Housing Month, it is a great time to celebrate our partnership with DMFHC! To learn more, get help or get involved, visit http://www.dmfhc.org and please be sure to tell someone about Fair Housing Month Today.

DMFHC Fair Housing Outreach Specialist, Trevor Jones says. “Fair Housing Is Your Right… Use It!”
