New Board Member – Polly Lestikow

Today, we pause in our preparation for Pucks for Possibilities (coming next week-Mar. 1st) to introduce one of our new Board of Directors, Polly Lestikow. Polly will bring vast industry experience and energy to the Board. Be sure to watch HBF’s blog and our social media channels to learn more about Polly and other #facesofHBF.

Polly Lestikow is President of Closet Factory, which has been in business for 30 years. Last year, Closet Factory had a banner year, and set a revenue record! Polly is proud of her heritage, including being a first-generation college graduate. She says her “Dad and mom taught us to be hard workers and good Christians”. Polly pays homage to her upbringing by giving back and helping organize the way to independence. She feels the importance of supporting neighbors who are in need of physical assistance, and walks-the-walk helping our clients.

Polly’s business relationship with John Keith introduced her to HBF over 10 years ago. She had a very personal reason to get involved, as her mother was diagnosed with ALS in the late 80’s and they both encountered accessibility challenges.

Along with her husband, Polly is an avid distance cyclist. Together, they have ridden across America twice – once on the southern tier and most recently completed the Northern tier in September. She is also an avid swimmer and loves the quiet time in the pool. Polly uses this time to refresh and recharge. She needs the infusion of calm as she has six grandchildren who keep her extremely busy. In fact, 90% of the photos Polly submitted with her dossier included one or more grandbaby!

When she was growing up, Polly wanted to be a career woman doing meaningful work and earning substantial means. Done and done! So now she uses her powers for good with HBF. Polly is a unique addition to the Board, bringing a specific talent that helps our clients considerably.

We hope you will join us welcoming Polly, and all the new board members.

More about our Board: An HBF board term is typically three years, with an option for two terms. HBF is so fortunate that most of our board members elect to serve two terms. This provides a continuity that is comforting to clients and staff alike.
