Ann L.

Ann is a woman with MS who requested a deck and ramp to get her in/ out of the home. She was referred to the Home Builders Foundation by one of our partner organization, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Ann currently uses a walker and wheelchair because of her MS. However, she has difficulty getting in and out of the home with the walker and wheelchair because there is no ramp.

In conjunction with Colorado Gives Day on December 4th, the HBF built a deck and ramp for Ann. The project was overseen by Project Captain Brent Guetz (ProBuild). The project was worth a retail value of about $2,000. However, because all of the labor was donated, the materials were discounted and NMSS  was able to help purchase the materials, the cost to the HBF was very little.

After the ramp was complete, the HBF received this note from Ann:

The gentleman who built my ramp worked diligently and efficiently from start to finish. It is a joy to finally have wheel chair access to my home. God bless all of you. Gratefully, Ann

Thank you ProBuild for assisting with this project on such a special day in Colorado. While ProBuild was building the ramp, HBF supporters were donating online. That day, we not only created access for Ann to her home, but the HBF raised $8,500 so that we may continue to assist homeowners throughout the Denver metro area needing accessible home modifications.
