The goal of HBF, helping those in need, is one many can stand behind and support. The home building industry as a whole is built on a foundation of building safe, comfortable homes for others. In a competitive and challenging market such as ours it would be easy for builders to focus solely on the bottom line. Fortunately for HBF clients, companies such as LENNAR continue to find ways to give back. When asked why she personally gets involved, Toni Salais-Alvarado, Lennar Area Customer Care Manager responded,
“My parents taught us that even though we were raised not having much, we should always help others in need no matter the situation. I enjoy seeing the smiles on the families faces before and after, it fills my heart to know that I am able to help. I am proud to be a part of a company that goes above and beyond to help others in their time of need.”

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve with the HBF in bringing freedoms and comforts to people in deep and often times, desperate need. I am very thankful for this organization and their work and look forward to actively participating in the next project! I am also very grateful that Lennar Homes supports its employees using our work days to participate in these projects. What a partnership!”
It is particularly impactful when financial support is combined with action. Tracy Moe, Lennar Area Customer Care Manager recalls gratefully,
“It’s truly amazing to be able to help others in need. It’s a great experience for my team as well. My team and I have met some extraordinary people while helping with numerous HBF projects. One memorable project my team and I were involved in was for a little boy named Leo. Leo was born with his condition and needs a lot of therapy. His parents simply wanted to give him space in the home so he could someday be mobile and have an in-home therapy room. This project was a two-part project. First, we converted the main level living space by removing a built-in fire place to give the space more room and we changed out the flooring so it would be easier to move around in his wheel chair. The second part of this project was to convert the basement into a therapy space with a bedroom and handicapped accessible bathroom for a space for Leo to grow-up in. It was truly awesome to get to see this project transform and also become friends with some awesome folks along the way!”
