The Home Builders Foundation is currently recruiting skilled Project Captains, crews, volunteers, meal sponsors and applicants for its 2019 Blitz Build, taking place on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 2019.
What: The Blitz Build is an annual event that brings together contractors, remodels and volunteers to build 20 (possibly more!) ramps for individuals needing access to their homes. Even though the HBF builds ramps year-round, during the Blitz Build event more than 200 volunteers are mobilized to complete the work in just 3 days.
Applicants: If you or someone you know is in need of a ramp, please fill have them fill out the HBF’s application for assistance. Note: Any ramp applications received now through June 2019 will be considered for the Blitz Build. Projects need to meet the requisite qualifications and will be reviewed on a first-come, first-saved basis of the completed application.
Project Captains, Crews & Volunteers: The HBF fundraises every dollar for our projects so that we can provide modifications to our recipients at no cost to them. As with past years, each crew is required to make a donation of $250 to participate in the Blitz Build. The crew can choose to make a donation as a company/ council or as individuals; the HBF will even create an online fundraising page for your group to bring attention to the good you’re doing! Note to all interested volunteers: Due to the increased popularity of the Blitz Build, the HBF has developed a lottery system and crew application to match potential crews with projects. Attached is the Blitz Build Expectation Guide that outlines how this year’s project matching will be determined. After reading that, if you are interested in participating in this year’s event, please fill out the attached Crew Application and send it back in as soon as possible.
