Francisco is a 71-year-old man who has chondromalacia (degeneration of cartilage) in both ankles as well as spinal stenosis. As a result, he uses a walker to assist with his limited mobility.
To help with Francisco’s access in his home, the HBF installed a walk in shower sower, grab bars, a shower seat and widened one door frame.
GreenBuilt Homes was the Project Captain for this bathroom remodel. It is estimated that the total retail value of Francisco’s bathroom remodel was more than to $4,000. However, due to the generosity from so many trades and suppliers like GreenBuilt Homes, the cost to the Home Builders Foundation was less than $1,000. Through charitable donations like these, the Home Builders Foundation is able to provide home modifications for people in the Denver area who are affected by long-term disabilities.
