Crew From Pinkard Construction Participates in their First Blitz Build

Pinkard Construction Co. was founded by James W. Pinkard in 1962. And since that time the company has completed a lot of projects in Colorado. This year they built a special project for HBF and participated in Blitz Build for the first time.

The crew installed a ramp in Englewood for 8-year-old Jax M. Jax relies on a wheelchair to get around due to multiple conditions including Hydrocephalus, Lissencephaly and Epilepsy. Jax’s mother Kaylee was very appreciative of the work done by the volunteer crews. “Jax continues to get heavier as he grows and I was concerned about falling when I carried him down the steps,” said Kaylee. “I feel so much safer wheeling him down the ramp to the car.”

BlitzBuild 2022 was a fantastic team building time for our firm as we assembled our community outreach, Pink Crew, together for the first time since COVID hit to make a positive change for those in our community. While the project was large and the weather was hot we were able to complete the new deck and ramp. Experiencing the joy from the Mom and kids as they viewed the finished product certainly made it all worthwhile. – Jim Mellor, Pinkard Construction Company, Director of Business Development

Blitz Build is a three-day event during which multiple crews of builders, tradespeople and volunteers build ramps and decks for individuals across the Denver area who are living with disabilities. This year, Pinkard Construction Co. joined 200 dedicated home builders, vendors and volunteers from 35 companies completed projects for 14 individuals throughout metro Denver.
