Annual Supporters, like Berkeley Homes, are one big way the HBF can provide vital home modifications for those living in situations where accessibility is a challenge. Each year Berkeley Homes contributes financially as a Gold Level Annual Supporter and they consistently sit in the category as a top Project Captain for “BIG” modifications. One of the favorite events to participate in is Blitz Build. Blitz Build is a great way for them to get their employees and trades involved and give back to the community that continues to give them the opportunity to call Colorado home.
Last year Berkeley Homes helped a young man, Hatim, with a full bedroom and bathroom remodel. Hatim is such a fun and vibrant kid, so they really enjoyed working with him and his family to give him his own space. They even got to go back during Blitz Build and build him a ramp as well. They also helped a gentlemen named Steve with a barrier-free bathroom so he could bathe independently. It is such a rewarding experience to be able to give HBF clients their freedom back.
Berkeley Homes has been building Denver area homes for more than three decades. They are local, nimbly sized and pride themselves on fresh home designs and superior craftsmanship. Every HBF project creates great memories, and each one is as rewarding as the very first one they completed 10 years ago.
We asked Berkeley Homes’ Marketing Manager, Alexa Nickless, “How did supporting HBF through COVID benefit your company and employees?” She responded, “Covid was a hard year on a lot of people and supporting HBF allowed our employees to feel some joy and happiness in the trying times. It was also such an important time to help those who didn’t have the fullest accessibility in their homes. We recognize the added challenges and safety concerns. We were thankful to be able to stay involved in some projects to make their environment better and more accessible during this time.”
Alexa concludes our talk by saying, “We are a part of the Colorado community; we live, work and play here! The people affiliated with HBF are our neighbors and friends. One of the things that makes Colorado so great are the communities that support each other. We want to make sure we continue to spread that helping hand and community love by sharing our resources and skills as often as we are able.
Make it a mission for your company to provide funds and materials that make a critical impact in the community.
